There are occasions when it would be lovely to be able to wear gorgeous high-end statement jewellery but we don’t necessarily have the budget.  The Folly Boutique has it covered! Why not hire rather than buy if budget doesn’t allow? With pieces suitable for not only the bride and bridesmaids but mother of the bride/groom as well as wedding guests you can hire everything you need on this  easy to use website. Of course, weddings aren’t the only occasions we might want something different in the jewellery department to set off an outfit, a special night out, Christmas or a New Years Party or a day at the races, The Folly Boutique is bound to have something suitable!

A new online boutique The Folly Boutique is an exciting new website dedicated to designer statement jewellery, which offers a twist for all jewellery lovers. The company is the brainchild of owner Sophie Moore, who herself found the lack of hireable designer jewellery for her own wedding frustrating. It offers fashion lovers and brides looking for something that little bit different the chance to buy or hire high-end pieces. The go-to place to find exquisite unusual costume and statement jewellery, The Folly Boutique represents the idea that women all over the UK can wear designer jewellery for a fraction of the retail value.

Www.thefollyboutique.com is a sleek and sophisticated, easy to use online shop showcasing a huge selection of handpicked designers, ranging from the relatively unknown to the top dogs in the fashion jewellery world. The collection includes established and well loved brands such as Mawi and Lara Bohinc, as well as up and coming UK designers like Smith/Grey.

This exciting new  e-store offers a unique product and a unique service, allowing everyone to wear stunning designer jewellery without the commitment. Rent it or buy it, The Folly Boutique displays an exceptional selection of stunning and unusual jewellery for weddings, galas and balls, parties and even for everyday wear.

Director Sophie Moore says “We want our customers to experience the thrill of wearing pieces by the world’s top jewellery brands at a fraction of the price.”  She adds, “Given that our clients can hire or buy most pieces from the online store, it gives them the opportunity to ‘try before you buy’ or simply to regularly wear new season statement pieces making them feel fabulous and become the envy of their friends.”

Sophie’s passion for jewellery is longstanding, and through this new business she aims to to get across the idea that all women can enjoy the feeling of wearing fabulous designer statement jewels without having to break the bank. You can order a rental piece through the website, pay a fraction of the retail value by picking a 3 or 6 day rental. It will arrive in the post on the morning of your rental period, you then wear it and enjoy it, pop it into its prepaid returns bag and simply post it back.

Home to top designers Bruce Oldfield, Emma Victoria Payne, Stewart Parvin and Suzanne Neville, Beauchamp Place is already a prime destination for the discerning bride in search of her wedding gown. With a royal warrant of appointment, an enviable private client list and numerous appearances on red carpets around the world to their name, the bridal boutiques of Beauchamp Place have earned their reputation for offering a diverse, luxurious collection of wedding gowns, with all designers collections being proudly produced in the UK.

This is a unique opportunity to shop end of line gowns, and ex show room samples from the whole of Beauchamp Place in one joint sale, with bridal gowns starting from just £400 and a selection of veils, accessories, and jewellery also on offer to complete your look.

There is a £5 entry fee wholly donated to Barnado’s, a charity chosen because of Bruce Oldfields close link as Vice-President. Early attendance is advised and the last entry will be strictly at 4.15pm.

Are you making resolutions at New Year? What are your hopes and plans for 2014?

In years gone by I used to make resolutions at New Year, the usual ones of wanting to lose weight, get fit, cut down on alcohol etc., it didn’t take me too long to realise however that these were doomed to fail at the first fence. You see, it’s my birthday on 3rd January, so cutting down on food and alcohol on the 1st just don’t work for me! Especially this coming birthday as I will be celebrating not just a milestone number but the fact that I’m still here to celebrate. As you may already know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2012 so the first half of this year was spent undergoing and recovering from chemo and radiotherapy.

So, instead of New Year resolutions I tend to have hopes and plans for the coming year which are more realistic and tangible. I’ve already been working on my relaunched blog and that feels like an achievement after months of not having the energy mentally to tackle it. So I’m ahead of the game already 🙂 Can you help me out by letting me know what you’d like to see here? I’ve also been giving more attention to social media, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. I’m especially loving Pinterest and have spent lovely hours creating some wedding inspiration boards there. Are you on Pinterest? If not and you’d like to be then let me know and I’ll send you an invitation. It’s a great resource and tool for planning lots of different things from the look of a wedding to home decor, recipes and tutorials.

Mr Lilguys is home at the moment until after my birthday weekend which is lovely. He works away most weeks so we generally only get a few days a week together. It’s been lovely to spend some quality time together and to have a break from the norm, and having kind of lost my mojo earlier this month I can now feel the creativity coming back, which is something of a relief!

First on my To Do list is a revamp of my website to include a jewellery and gifts section. As well as handmade wedding stationery I also make sterling silver jewellery and other items such as letter openers. What sort of thing would you consider giving to someone getting married, or from you to your bridal party as gifts? I have a growing list if ideas but I’d love to hear yours!

Something quite rare is happening this New Year as we start off with a New Moon too, apparently the last time this happened was 19 years ago, so it feels like a very fresh start to the year.  I’m feeling very positive that this will be a great year (lets’s face it, it could only really get better for me after 2013!) and I sincerely hope that it’s a brilliant year for you too.
