There are many elements that make up a beautiful wedding, the most important of course is the couples love for one another that will shine through. Other elements such as stationery, flowers and the cake can help to bring together the style and colour scheme you’ve choosen for your special day, as can be seen by these stunning cakes from Cakes By Beth.
Award-winning, luxury wedding cake designer Cakes by Beth launches their latest collection of contemporary wedding cakes at The National Wedding Show, Manchester Central. The 2014 Collection is called “Colours”, and features six striking, modern designs with pops of colour used in innovative ways.
Cakes by Beth’s owner and wedding cake designer, Beth Mottershead says: “Every Spring, I launch a new wedding cake collection to show my latest design ideas and predictions for upcoming wedding cake trends. This year, colour is in and I wanted to really celebrate this in a fresh, modern way.” Each cake features a single colour; pink, plum, blue, teal, yellow and chocolate, from Pink Confetti with on-trend rice paper petals and ombre roses, to Parisian Romance with a softer, sultry take on classic monochrome.
Other designs are: Modern Wedgewood, bringing a classic design into the 21st Century with different shapes, textures and porcelain-style lilies; Black & Yellow, where striking geometric shapes meet vivid roses and peonies; and Winter Frost Birdcage, with a sculpted shape, sparkling ice trim and just a hint of plum berries.

The final design, Gold & Linen, featuring crisp lines, edible sequins and teal sugar succulents, will be showcased on stage, along with Beth’s top tips on ordering your perfect wedding cake.

Beth says: “I wanted to show how you can bring colour into your wedding cake without making it overly bright. By using lots of different tones or shades of the same colour, and highlighting key details against a neutral background. It can be both playful and beautiful.”
